I love albums that finish with the penultimate track being the sort of ‘climax’ to the record, and then the final song is a calming sort-of aftermath. Examples include:

Good To Know That If I Ever Need Attention All I Have To Do Is Die > Play Crack The Sky

I could go on! I think this is the best way to close an album; I like the gentle wave goodbye of a quiet, slower closer. Save the dramatic closing for the live show, I say!
